SAMI Labs, Ltd., the research and manufacturing arm of Sabinsa Corporation, was recently honored with several awards from the government of India.
This is not the first time SAMI Labs has been honored by the Indian government. In 1995, Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Sabinsa's founder, received the President's Award for Quality and Innovation from Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, then President of India. SAMI Labs, Ltd., Sabinsa's primary research and manufacturing facility located in India, was also named company of the year (1995). In 1997, the Dept. of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India recognized Sami R&D as a center for Industrial Research.The company received two top export awards from the Indian Spices Board in 2000. Over the years, the company has obtained ten for export performance and good manufacturing practice from the Indian Spices Board. Over the years Sami Labs has received ten awards for export performance and quality. The Spice House Certificate, a recognition of manufacturing facilities and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) for spice oils and oleoresins awarded by Spices Board, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, in 1999 deserves special mention.
